Learn More About Your ORA Neon Green Sinularia – (WYSIWYG)

Description

Because they’re so darn hardy and fast-growing, tank-propagated Sinularia Finger Leather Corals are not at all rare in the reef aquarium trade. However, the ORA Neon Green Sinularia Finger Leather Coral is a certainly harder to find strain. It is quite attractive, having an intense neon green color instead of the usual light brown.

It has a nice tree-like form. Its entire body inflates or deflates with its “mood,” often for days at a time. This isn’t necessarily a sign of unhealthiness and may indicate a period of rapid growth. While shrunken, it might retract its polyps and develop a waxy film. Good flow helps to ensure that this film is shed so that the coral can open up again.

As is so often the case, aquacultured specimens of this species are even easier to maintain in captivity. In fact, it is a good choice for novice reefkeepers.

The ORA Neon Green Sinularia tolerates most reef aquarium lighting. It doesn’t tend to change color much under different lights but does seem to inflate less under very bright lights. Perhaps best of all, it is quite easy to propagate. This is as simple as cutting off a branch and securing it to a small piece of rock with monofilament line.

The ORA Neon Green Sinularia can be placed at all tank heights under medium-high light levels and moderate water flow.
